You Are The Captain And The World, Your Ship
We are always in the right place at the right time - right where we need to be. Planning for doomsday removes us from spontaneity, or life itself. Once we fall out of step with that we are as good as dead anyway. The only possible remedy is to find out who and what we really are, everything else is a cause waiting to happen - which would bind us to future imaginings.
We are not bound by anything but ourselves. Once we come face to face with ourselves it is at that specific moment that we become able to help others. Until then, we are merely blowing into the wind.
When we cut commitments we are then able to fully stand on our own and are able to deal with what is as it is. When we immerse ourselves in ties that bind, we move away from ourselves. It's like a lazy summer afternoons daydream. What good can come of it. What good can come of diving into experience? When we have total commitment to ourselves what else could possibly be necessary?
There are those who have cut all ties with humanity and found a refuge unto themselves. One needn't remove oneself to a far corner of the universe to understand what is going on here, which are the ties that bind. There is a wonderful saying: "Where ever you go, there you are!" Giving everything up won't give it to you and gaining everything there is won't give it to you either.
You are it already.
And so, we stand alone as we have always stood alone. And in that aloneness there is opportunity to come to meet ourselves as we are. Not as others think or demand that we are, but as we really are - whatever that encompasses.
All roads lead to Rome. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
The opportunity is always there anyway.
