Gimme Some Cake!
Recently, FreeZone America celebrated it's first birthday.
So what's the big deal?
Over the past year, its been interesting to see the types of people that come to visit FZA. Out of them all, one type stands out. The 'gimmes'.
The 'gimmes' are those people that are looking for an easy way out. They see what can be of immediate benefit, and then ask for more, in the mistaken belief that my job is to 'help' them. Let me clarify my position on this.
I could care less about those that seek a quick answer to all their woes. I am not a guru. I do not read secret scriptures or listen to endless tapes in the hopes that I too, will become a certified technical wizard so that I can take away all your troubles.
That is all very boring.
What is not boring is that FZA provides different perspectives and tools to assist you in finding you own spiritual way. Contrary to the beliefs of some, the CoS does not have the answer, nor the only path, to spiritual enlightenment. They have only a starting point - and they know it.
Take a look at some other perspectives on FZA. If you want a condensed version of the principles of Scientology, L. Kin has some wonderful books on that subject. The Scientologist 'Pilot', has provided some inspiring and workable technical books. 'Excalibur Revisited', written by Geoffrey Filbert, is a classic and a great starting point to introduce the subject.
There is a lot of material available, but there are not a lot of people willing to read through these types of books to find 'what is true for them'. Instead, the 'gimmes' bypass this most important step and go directly to a quickie answer. It doesn't take long before everyone is label a 'nut' when no specific 'quickie fix' answers are forthcoming.
We celebrate our first year on the net knowing that besides the 'gimmies', there are also those people that are on a true 'spiritual' quest. To those people we say 'thanks for stopping by'. The journey doesn't end here, but our answer does.1
