Swami Hubbard Turns Into God
Swami Hubbard's beginnings researching clearing on the streets of Hollywood were quite modest, but that was not to last long. In a lecture he gave in 1955 called, "Background Music To Living", he had this to say about the labels people wear and how wearing one label equates to God:
"Well, I'll tell you the label people will eventually wear if they start to wear just one label. It's spelled g-o-d. Only no such God could possibly exist because he would have gone batty long ago. He would have had no time and could control nothing."
In his quest at becoming expert in hypnotism and mysticism, and in so many other fields of "research", it seems that he was feeling inferior that he alone possessed the intelligence and wit to understand it all. What better way to draw attention to oneself than to denigrate and put down others.
Because he was a space case, he justified himself by claiming that stability was insanity.
This idea of stability and insanity might even have some merit to it. But alas, that was not to be. Swami Hubbard, a few years later, puts his foot in his mouth and swallowed:
"But before I hit this place I was on the same post for eighty trillion years, same post, same name. Give you some idea of stability of identity."

Swami Hubbard did was is called "a flip". Now HE is stable, and everyone else is not! This means, of course, that stability equals sanity.
Swami Hubbard now used the idea of stability and longevity as a justification for his rightness to be The Great Swami.
Is this evolution of a science, or is it the ravings of a lunatic?
Luckily for him, he escaped before the fellow with the white jacket showed up. I wonder if he is still on the same post. Another eighty trillion years really isn't that long...1
