Without the right tools, completing a job can be difficult. The following are posts that we picked up that may help in providing those 'missing' tools.

"Scientology is the science of knowing how to know answers. It is a wisdom in the tradition of ten thousand years of search in Asia and Western Civilization. It is the Science of Human Affairs which treats the livingness and beingness of Man, and demonstrates to him a pathway to greater freedom."

(taken from "A Summary of Scientology",
"The Creation of Human Ability: A Handbook for Scientologists" by L. Ron Hubbard)

Subject: AMMUNITION: Books on Copyrights, Trademarks & Fair Use
Date: Mon, 02 Feb 1998 08:21:40 -0600

Here is a list of some very useful books on copyright and trademark law and on the Fair Use doctrine:

"Patents, Copyrights, and Trademarks" by Frank H. Foster and Robert L. Shook (John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 1993) --NOTE: Mr. Foster is the Chairman of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Section of the Ohio State Bar.

"Copyright, Fair Use, & the Challenge for Universities: Promoting the Progress of Higher Education" by Kenneth D. Crews (University of Chicago Press, 1993)

"Exemptions & Fair Use in Copyright: The Exclusive Rights Tensions in the 1976 Copyright Act" by Leon E. Seltzer (Harvard University Press, 1978)

"Technology & Copyright Law: A Guidebook for the Library, Research, & Teaching Professions" by Arlene C. Bielefield and Lawrence Cheeseman (Neal-Schum, 1997)

"Copyright and Educational Media" (Association for Educational Communications & Technology, 1977)

"Copyright & Fair Use: The Great Image Debate" by Robert A. Baron (Gordon & B, 1997)

"The Fair Use Privilege in Copyright Law" by William F. Patry (BNA Books, 1995)

"Technology and Copyright: Sources and Materials" by George Pollock Bush and Robert H. Dreyfuss (Lomond Publications, Inc., 1979)

Everyone should purchase at least one of these books, especially those who run anti-COS web sites. These books are available from Barnes & Noble and also Borders Books.
